Sirron Norris is the Mission. You’ll find his art on murals and iPhone cases, getting tagged by punks and being feted in private homes. His story is the Mission’s, and he gives back to the community in countless ways. From serving on the board of Recology to teaching youth art classes to decorating the Mission with his signature style, Sirron Norris is a pillar of the community.
His murals use humor and color to rail against the condo-fication of the neighborhood. His signature blue bears pop up everywhere in the Mission, from Balmy Alley to Valencia and Bryant streets. His cartooning, animation and art classes for kids easily top the list of “stuff I wish I got to do when I was 9.” Sirron does custom work as well, and will integrate customers’ passions into a colorful, action-packed piece of art. Stop by his gallery for a little tour and a chat, and give his dogs a pat on the head.
Sirron also designed all the artwork for Live Local. LiLo, the buildings at the top and bottom of the page, the window decal, the banner, the countertop display and even the Live Local card itself. His insight, vision, encouragement and friendship made Live Local what it is today.
