Asiento means “seat” in Spanish, and it’s one of those bars where you can actually have a seat with a friend. There’s board games, tapas, good music and a relaxed environment. It aims to be the local neighborhood bar, but it’s pleasant enough to attract people from more bar-laden parts of the Mission (and beyond).
Interesting events are always happening at Asiento. Whether it’s Tacos and Tapas Tuesdays, Recovery Brunch on Sundays featuring crab cake eggs benedict with chipotle hollandaise, trunk shows by local designers, live DJ sets or fundraisers for Burners, there’s bound to be something happening at Asiento. And if not, that’s fine too, it’s a great place to have a drink and chat up some (preferably attractive) neighbors.
The first person in each night gets to add his or her drink of choice to the night’s happy hour specials list, so get in early, order something expensive, call your friends and you’re good to go.
